Day 1:
We have arranged for the tour to begin in Calgary, Alberta. Everyone on the tour will meet in the hospitality
room at the Calgary Airport for a get-acquainted pre-tour meeting. We depart for London, England in the
evening.
Day 2:
We arrive in London at approximately 1:30 pm. Our coach will be waiting for us to take us to the Danbius
Hotel, Regents Park. We relax or do a little sight-seeing around London before dinner at the hotel.
Day 3:
We have breakfast at the hotel. Our coach picks us up and takes us to the British Bethel Home. We have a
tour of the facilities and enjoy the hospitality of the brothers. We travel to the British Museum for a tour.
One of the local pioneer brothers will be our guide at the Museum. After the tour we are free to tour London
for the rest of the afternoon. Dinner is at the hotel.
Day 4:
After a fine English breakfast at the hotel our coach picks us up and takes us to Southhampton where we embark on our cruise aboard the Grand Princess. We will want to check into our stateroom and then explore
the ship. Later that evening we will all meet together in the dining room for dinner.
Day 5:
Today we are cruising the Atlantic Ocean. You can enjoy
the voyage from your private balcony, relax, exercise, take
a swim or walk around the decks taking in the ocean view.
We will have a Watchtower Study somewhere on the ship.
Your tour escort will let you know where and when. We
have an early dinner. After dinner you can check out the
entertainment or enjoy whatever it is you would like to do.
Day 6:
Still cruising the Atlantic Ocean. Today you may want to
catch up on some reading as you sit on your private balcony, or continue your tour of all the facilities on board as
there are many activities going on. You may want to check
out what is going on in the ship’s newspaper, which is delivered to your room each evening. Don’t forget to meet
your brothers in the dining room for dinner.
Day 7:
Today we arrive at our first port of call, Malaga and Granada, Spain. Malaga is the port and Granada is the place
you will want to visit. You can take advantage of one of
the tours of Granada that Princess offers or you can go
ashore on your own. The ship docks at 10:00 am and you
must be back on board before 7:00 pm.
Day 8:
The ship arrives at Cartagena, Spain at 7:00 am today. You have until 4:00 pm to go ashore and explore. Cartagena has been inhabited by several cultures over the years, which have left their mark on it’s artistic heritage.
A tour of the place and it’s museums will take you on a journey back in history. Then back on the ship for the
evening.
Day 9:
Barcelona, Spain is where you arrive today. You can get off the ship as early as 8:00 am and you do not have
to be back on board until 5:00 pm. You will want to visit the Gothic Quarter of Old Barcelona. There is some
good shopping in this city, but you might have to look for bargains. You might be interested in visiting the Picasso Museum. Lots to see in this city! Of course, back on the boat for dinner where you will want to tell about
the interesting day you had.
Day 10:
If you are up early in the morning today look at the view from your private balcony or on one of the upper decks.
The ship is arriving at Monte Carlo, Monaco and Cannes, France. Our ship lets us off at 8:00 am. They call
Cannes the Jewel of the French Riviera. There are lots of Cafés and famed beaches between Monte Carlo and
Cannes. You will want to take your bathing suit ashore with you and try a swim in the Mediterranean. You will
find some good shopping, but it could be expensive. You will want to be back on the Grand Princess before
6:00 pm.
Day 11:
At 7:00 am today we arrive at Civitavecchia. This is the sea port for Rome, Italy. There will be a coach waiting
for us with the sign Bethel Tours. This is a special day. We will be visiting the Italian Bethel in Rome. After
our tour of Bethel the coach will take us to a hotel in the heart of Rome. From there we will be able to visit the
Coliseum, The Trevi Fountain and perhaps the Spanish Steps or other sights. Our coach will then take us back
to the ship in time for dinner.
Day 12:
You will enjoy Naples and the Island of Capri, Italy your next port of call. Some say that this is the most beautiful part of Italy. Our ship arrives at 7:00 am. You will want to go ashore as soon as possible because there is a
lot to see and do. A visit to Pompeii is a must. This city of ancient ruins buried in the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius
in the year 79 of the 1st century. The Apostle Paul could have walked those streets. The Isle of Capri is one of
Italy’s most inviting islands. You may also have time
during your shore trip to visit Sorrento and the Amalfi
Coast. Don’t miss the boat. Be back on board before
6:00 pm. Once back, you can relax and enjoy the evening.
Day 13:
Today we arrive at the Island of Corsica at 10:00 am.
The 19th century writer, Balzac described Corsica as “a
French Island basking in the Italian sun”. In the town of
Ajaccio, you can see the affects of Napolean everywhere. You can go ashore on your own or you may
want to take one of the tours arranged by Princess. Take
lots of pictures! Back on the boat by 6:00 pm.
Day 14:
This is a day at sea sailing across the beautiful Mediterranean. A good day for us to have our 2nd Watchtower
Study. Your tour escort will let you know when and where on the ship you will meet. Enjoy the facilities of
the Grand Princess today, use the swimming pool, the exercise room, the library or take a walk around the
decks. Hit some golf balls or check the ship’s paper to see what other activities there are for you to share in.
Tonight why not take in the midnight buffet!
Day 15:
You will want to be on deck at 9:00 am this morning as the ship sails into Gibraltar, our final port of call.
Some feel that Gibraltar is one of the most interesting places to visit in the Mediterranean. The great rock of
Gibraltar, standing like a sentinel at the entrance of the Mediterranean, is home to British culture, Barbary apes
and other interesting sights are here. You will want to take one of the tours of the rock itself. Return to the
ship by 5:00 pm and watch the sail away from the top deck.
Day 16:
A day at sea cruising the Atlantic Ocean. A good time to relax or associate with your brothers and sisters or do
whatever it is you feel like doing. Enjoy the facilities of the ship. Tonight the captain invites everyone to join
him for refreshments etc. as he gives a farewell speech.
Day 17:
Our final day of the cruise at sea. Check the ship’s newspaper to see what is planned for the day. There will
be preparation for docking at Southampton in the morning. As this is our final night of the cruise we will have
a reception for our group in one of the special rooms available on the ship before dinner. Your tour escort will
let you know where it will be. Do not miss dinner tonight, as it will be special. Also the entertainment on the
last night of the voyage is usually excellent.
Day 18:
The ship docks at Southhampton at 7:00 am. We say
goodbye to the Grand Princess and catch our coach which
will be waiting for us at the dock to take us to London and
the Danubius hotel. You will have the rest of the day for
sight-seeing, shopping or relaxing and enjoying London.
You are on your own for dinner. A suggestion from us
would be a pub for fish and chips!
Day 19:
After a fine English breakfast at the hotel, our coach picks
us up and takes us to the airport for our flight home. We
arrive in Canada on the same day that we leave having
gained back the day we lost on the trip over. We return
home with some never to be forgotten memories.
